New Camera

I just ordered the GoPro Hero 960 HD for the Colorado trip.

I've used the old standard def GoPro for awhile now, but last year the footage was grainy and not very fluid so I made the upgrade. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean that I'll be able to put together a good highlight reel from the trip, (although that won't keep me from trying) but it does mean that at least you'll be able to watch it in focus. Wish me luck.

Is this thing on?

Crazy long time since I've posted anything but I'm thinking that this new Chrome notebook will get me back in the swing of things. Going to see Clint in CO next week so should have some fun pics and videos to post.

OUCH!!

First brick ever.... and all I can say is ouch! This is going to be much tougher than expected. Got in a 47 mile ride followed by a 2 mile run. The run was the worst of my life. Never felt so heavy, slow and hurtful. Think it is time to start reorg'ing my training plan. Need more running... oh and a swim or two would be good too.
Ride = 2hrs & 24 min. Run = 22min. Daily total = 166 Total = 288

It's On!

In the words of some great philosopher...
It's ON Like Donkey Kong!!
The now seemingly annual get in shape competition for an actual competition started yesterday.
This years actual competition = 1/2 IronMan on Sept. 12th.
This years pre-cometition competition, is time based instead of mileage based to account for the variety of sports that need to be trained for. In addition the diciplnes are weighted to even out effort vs time issue. Biking = 1:1, Running = 2:1, and Swimming = 3:1
So far.... Super fast ride yesterday. Over 20 miles @ 22.3 avg. Total time 56 min. Three mile run @ lunch today, pushing Gavin (there should be extra points for that!!) Total time 33 min.
Total points so far = 122

First Stab at Copper Video

Here is my first stab at putting together some of the footage from my Copper trip. I don't yet have all the footage, (that's a not so subtle hint Clint) and when I do I'll try to put together something a little more polished but for now it was fun putting a few pics and video clips to music. The first clip is coming down Nacho on the back bowl of Tucker after being dropped off by the Cat, the next clip is going down Union Meadows, and the last clip is coming down Copper Bowl. Enjoy.

P.S. It's over five minutes long and this is blogger so it might take a bit to load. No problem if you're at work with some time to kill, but if you're rushing out the door, might want to save this one for later.
P.P.S. The footage is a bit shaky so if you get seasick easy you also might want to pass.

Some pics from the Colorado Trip.

I went out to visit Clint a couple weeks ago and yes, it was awesome. Some of the best snowboarding of my life and it was good to see Clint. It's the first time that anyone in the immediate fam has taken off and moved thousands of miles away and that takes some getting used to, but if he had to move somewhere, I'm glad it was to a place with shin to knee high powder and some epic back bowls. Here is a taste of it, more pics and even some video to follow...enjoy.
